Uganda has a fast emerging dairy sector and therefore Bles Dairies participated in the Holland Pavilion at the Agri Harvest Money expo at Kampala (17-19 February). Bles Dairies represented all its disciplines and also Dairy Training Centre, of which our consultancy discipline is shareholder. In the Holland Pavilion eight Dutch organisations participated.
Martin de Jong represented Bles Dairies, assisted by Berend de Leeuw who is involved in the implementation of a Quality Based Milk Payment System in the Mbarara region.
The new fair was very successful with more than 10.000 visitors. Bles Dairies was the only specialised dairy company on the fair and therefore many visitors entered the Holland Pavilion searching for Bles Dairies to get information on cattle, genetics and training.
Several VIPs visited the Bles Dairies booth, such as the Minister of Agriculture, the President of the Parliament, the former Vice President, King Oyo of the Toro region, the Netherlands ambassador and many more.
Also the three symposia on dairy farming attracted a lot farmers. Even to such an extent that many people had to stand to follow the presentations.
