Last week our dairy nutrition specialist Ben participated in a seminar in China. This seminar was organised to conclude a grassland project in which our consultancy discipline The Friesian was involved. During this seminar the outcomes of grassland demonstrations were being presented and discussed.
The seminar attracted great interest from guests of the regional government, managers of large dairy farms and the regional television and press.
Ben gave several presentations and interviews on amongst others crop rotation, the roughage issues in China and the cultivation of grass. He also presented and explained the grassland results.
The results were not particularly significant for Dutch understandings, so costs were relatively high. However, to compare these grass demonstrations: grass tests in the past brought half of the protein content.
A lot of positive responses on the seminar and the grass results were given!
