Last week our expert Anne travelled to Russia to conduct a practical training in hoof trimming. The training sessions were held at farms of a few of our Russian clients. Also a group of five veterinarians participated in the five day training event.
In the training the five step schedule for preventive hoof trimming was introduced. During the second part of the course also curative trimming was practised.
Anne told: “One of the major learning points was that many cows lost and loose milk because of insufficient trimming. Therefore we discussed on every farm trimming protocols, which we left afterwards. These protocols will be used to prevent future problems and to increase the milk production.”
